In an interview with Kevin Munroe, he stated that he would like to direct a possible sequel, possibly involving the return of the Shredder.[4] He is already expected to make a sequel, but stated that "it's going to depend" on the "box office at this point". Mirage Studios' Steve Murphy has posted a message on his blog saying that a TMNT sequel is looking very likely.[5] In July 2008, Playmates updated their official site announcing that Mirage Licensing is in negotiations with several companies about a new TMNT movie for 2010.[6] Peter Laird has talked about how they are exploring different options on how to do the next film such as a live-action film with CGI turtles, with hopes of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chris Evans reprising their roles in live action.
